Our Division has a long tradition of excellence in basic, translational, and clinical research in critical care medicine. Research in this area at the University of Washington spans a broad range to conditions, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute kidney injury (AKI), alcohol withdrawal, cardiac arrest, and sepsis. In addition, the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence is a national leader in training and research aimed at advancing value-based, patient-centered care for critically ill patients. We are proud of our sustained track record of NIH-sponsored research in critical care and our contributions to many of the field’s most important studies.
