Dr. David Horne conducts epidemiological, clinical, and translational TB-related research. He collaborates closely with Dr. Tom Hawn, MD, PhD, a physician-scientist in UW Division of Infectious Diseases who focuses on basic and translational research, and Dr. Videlis Nduba, a physician-scientist at the Centre for Respiratory Diseases Research (CRDR), Kenya Medical Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. CRDR-based studies include investigations of TB aerobiology and acoustic epidemiology, TB transmission, asymptomatic (subclinical) TB and community drivers of high TB prevalence. Dr. Horne collaborates with faculty from many different UW Departments including Bioengineering, Computer Science, and Microbiology, as well as the Seattle TB Research Advancement Center.
Drs. Masa Narita (PI) and Bijan Ghassemieh (co-I) are part of several CDC multi-site consortia including the TB Trials Consortium and TB Epidemiolgic Studies Consortium.
