Focus
The Lung Immunity and Repair Program represents one of our largest research foci.
Research within this program is varied, including basic biomedical research with a strong emphasis on animal models as well as transitional studies with human patients, cohorts, and material.
A common thread among the laboratories associated with this program is the overarching goal to uncover fundamental mechanisms involved in the onset, progression, and resolution of acute lung injury, airway infection, and asthma.
Our Approaches
To achieve our research goals, our laboratories incorporate a variety of sophisticated approaches, including:
- Genetically-defined mouse models
- Systems biology (inclusive of genomics transcriptomics, proteomics, and computational biology)
- Microbiology
- Immunology
- Imaging technologies
