The successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. Duties will include rounding daily with the critical care team, writing daily notes, coordinating the care of patients with the service attending physician and fellow, and participating in teaching opportunities in the clinical setting. Faculty members are encouraged to provide input at regularly held section meetings to address clinical issues and to help ensure the efficient deployment of team resources. As a member of the inpatient care team, the APP will need to provide coverage on weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care.
Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Practice - Director of Interventional Pulmonology
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) Associate Professor or Full Professor of Clinical Practice who will specialize in Interventional Pulmonology (IP). Patient care efforts will occur at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Montlake and Northwest Campuses, Harborview Medical Center (HMC), and at Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC). We are seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist to develop and lead a new IP service for UW Medicine. The Director of Interventional Pulmonology will have a strong clinical presence engaging in advanced bronchoscopy, pleural interventions, and other aspects of IP medicine. This new service will partner with thoracic surgery in the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer, management of complex pleural disease, therapeutic airway interventions, and interventional support of various thoracic and pulmonary conditions.
Open rank, Full-Time Clinical Faculty – VA
Puget Sound VA is hiring for a full-time pulmonary critical care physician to lead our advanced bronchoscopy program with capacity for endobronchial ultrasound and robotic bronchoscopy. We are a Level 1a VA with a lung transplant program, closed MICU, and large outpatient population. We have a lung cancer screening program and incidental lung nodule registry. Our physicians have faculty appointments at the University of Washington and work with trainees on the pulmonary consult service, MICU, and outpatient clinics.
Assistant Professor (Physician/scientist) - Pulmonary Fibrosis
The selected candidate would be appointed to the full-time faculty in the Department of Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor on the physician scientist pathway who will specialize in pulmonary fibrosis. Patient care efforts will occur primarily within the Center for Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Pulmonary and Transplant Consult services at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), Montlake and Northwest Campuses and Harborview Medical Center (HMC).
Assistant Professor (Physician/Scientist) - Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
The selected candidate would be appointed to the full-time faculty in the Department of Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor on the physician scientist pathway who will specialize in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Patient care efforts will occur primarily within the intensive care units (ICUs) at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), Montlake and Northwest Campuses, and Harborview Medical Center (HMC).
Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinician/Scholar – Fred Hutch)
The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinician Scholar pathway and will have protected time for research, teaching, and mentorship. They will be expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research primarily focused on patients with lung disease. There is opportunity to conduct clinical research with existing comprehensive clinical databases and ongoing prospective studies. The candidate will also have the opportunity and resources to develop their own clinical research programs. Relevant areas of research include but are not limited to lung cancer diagnosis, nodule management, pulmonary infections in the immunocompromised host, and pulmonary complications relating to cancer immunotherapies and bone marrow transplantation. The candidate will evaluate and manage patients in Pulmonary ambulatory service lines, including the Pulmonary Consult Clinic and the Lung Cancer Early Detection and Prevention Clinic (LCEDPC).
