Eligibility
Candidates must be able to complete residency training and be eligible for board certification in at least one of the specialties that are permitted to enter ACGME accredited programs in sleep medicine (Anesthesiology, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry) prior to the start date of the sleep fellowship (typically July 1).
Selection Criteria
An ideal candidate would be one who possesses outstanding personal characteristics, and evidence of excellence in clinical, academic, and research arenas. Evaluation of candidates will be on the basis of personal, clinical, research, and academic qualities assessed through application materials and a personal interview.
Special attention is paid to evidence of high academic potential as reflected in quality of prior training programs, evaluations of performance during prior training, formal didactic training in research or teaching, and academic productivity as reflected in publications.
Selection Process
Applicants must submit the required application materials via ERAS in order to be considered for an interview. We recommend submitting materials in July.
Applications are reviewed by the Fellowship Selection Committee in order to determine which candidates will be offered the opportunity to interview.
After interviews are completed, the Fellowship Selection Committee will determine the rank order list to submit to NRMP.
